Believe

Wordsmith

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. Habakkuk 3:17-19

Why believe in God, when times are bad?

Is this life, it?

Either you believe in eternity, or you don’t.

There can be no gray here.

If you believe in the heights of eternity, then you must believe the Bible to be true.

You should expect to have to pick up your cross, to follow Jesus.

Trials, hardships, illness, these things will happen.

Don’t let them defile your faith, rather let them purify it.

Gold is tested by fire, and to be worthy of God’s Kingdom, our souls need refinement.

Not only does it please God when we praise him in our pain, but it also strengthens our faith.

Through it all, no matter what happens in this life, remember, He is RISEN!

There is hope for all eternity, because Jesus defeated death and hell.

Today, you may not be able to go to a church to celebrate the biggest victory of all time, but you can thank him for that accomplishment, wherever you are.

But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I’ve said to you. John 14:26-27

Jesus didn’t promise his disciples a big, beautiful building to reach God. Rather, something much more valuable than anything man could make.

If his own disciples didn’t need a building to be filled by the Holy Spirit, neither do we.

Not just Easter can be full of the Holy Spirit, but your whole life!

If there’s anything I hope Christians have learned through this time of quarantine, is to invite God to be involved in every moment of your life, not just an hour or two on Sundays.

That intimate relationship with you, is what he wants. Your hearts, your families, your lives, your souls, will benefit from it.

I hope the God of all power, who created the cosmos, blesses you with his direction, his comfort, his peace and protection this Easter.

Even through Covid-19 and all the current trials we’re facing, we are victors! Not because of our own strength, but because Christ is victorious!

He has risen! Mark 16:6

I know many people around the world are suffering right now, and their faith is on shaky grounds. The worst thing we can do is harden our hearts to the good news of the gospel. We are not the first generation to suffer trials, and we won’t be the last. Just because things are tough right now, doesn’t mean God doesn’t care about us, or that the power of Christ’s victory has diminished. Far from! God wants us to lay down all of our idols and earthly crowns, then turn to him, so that power can manifest in our lives!

The promise Jesus gave, wasn’t just for the disciples who walked with him here on earth, but for us all.

Then Jesus told them, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29

This Easter, wherever you are, believe.

Believe God is bigger than your job loss. He’s got better things in store.

Believe that God is bigger than Covid-19. He’s got healing in store.

Believe that God is bigger, than the loneliness you feel. He’s got himself to offer. There is nothing better than that.

We are living during a pandemic. We are walking through the storm. All around us is scarcity and loss. Still… Believe.

Above all else, believe.

He is risen.

He is victorious.

Believe.
