God’s our light during trials

Wordsmith

From Cancel Culture, to the altar of Woke, Christians are under attack in America now more than ever. Our Savior is viciously mocked, and we’re almost to the point of being treated like second-class citizens.

It hurts.

It’s terrifying.

And it’s only going to get worse.

Christians in America have had it easy, too easy. Our faith has become soft and lukewarm.

That faith is about to be tested, close to the level it was tested during the time of Daniel.

God’s had it with the infidelity of the church. He’s about to test our faith and once the process is complete, just like refined gold, the remaining product will be amazing.

So will the blessings.

To get there, we’re going to go through trials unlike any of us could perceive happening in America.

When it happens, don’t give up. This is by God’s design.

God showed me this through a dream. I could clearly see the night sky over my neighborhood. The rooftops reflected the light of the moon like silver and gold in the sunlight, because the moon itself was not only full, but was as large and as bright as the sun. It made the darkness of night glow like the dawn.

When I woke up, I knew that dream was from God and grabbed my Bible. This is the verse he led me to:

The moon will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven full days, when the LORD binds up the bruises of his people, and heals the wounds he inflicted. Isaiah 30:26

I don’t know why God sometimes shows me dreams like this. I’m no better than you. It wasn’t until I was separated from everything that distracted me, and all the idols I clung to that I began to seek God, and he sought me in return. It was that personal relationship that changed my life. It’s an incredible honor. Yet, I don’t like sharing the dreams he gives me publicly, until now.

The only reason why I feel led to share this is because God wants you to know, dear reader, help is coming.

HIS help is coming.

As if Covid-19 wasn’t enough, we’re about to be squeezed tighter. Things are going to be dark. No matter how bad things get, don’t tarnish under pressure, but stand; stand bright as refined gold!

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Ephesians 6:13

The battle isn’t physical, but spiritual. God is allowing us to be tested to make us better, not worse. We have to resist the enemy when he tells us to give up and turn on God.

Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. 1 Peter 5:9

Think of the persecution happening against Christians all over the world. We Americans are rather naïve to think it can’t happen to us.

It already is.

You’re precious to God, but like I used to be, you’ve been misled. Watered-down gospel has extinguished the flame of God’s power, and we see it, don’t we? Look around, is your community better? Is crime decreasing? If the answer is no, it’s evident that what the flock has been doing isn’t working. What I mean by this is we can’t rely on man (pastors and spiritual leaders) to draw close to God for us. We must draw near to God ourselves.

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8.

There is no half-heartedness with God, and an hour a week at church isn’t enough to draw near to him.

We never should expect our pastors to be our mediators with God.

The only conduit we need to reach our Creator is Jesus.

When we rely heavily on others to pray for us, to get a word for us, to READ the word for us, it crosses a fine line from religious practice into idolatry.

The great news is we can repent, but repentance without renouncing the sin is useless.

Turn away from relying on others to be close to God, by seeking Him yourself. Immerse yourself into his word every single day. If you’re like most people and don’t have much spare time, place a Bible in every room. Read it before going to sleep. Read it when you wake up. Keep a Bible in the kitchen. Read it while waiting for the microwave!

Draw near to God and give him your hearts, your full, undivided hearts, and watch him change your lives.

When this trial is over and your faith is through being tested, you’ll be the one left standing, shining bright as gold underneath His light.
