Today is the anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s murder.
His loss stings.
Unfortunately, there are many lies spread across the internet about Charlie Kirk. From what I saw of him, he was a master at standing firm in his faith and convictions, and he did so respectfully.
It was a gift.
His bravery should be remembered. Especially now, when the weaponization of fear is being used, right here, in the Land of the Free.
Fear…
We’ve all felt it. Fear crawls on your skin. It pounds in your heart like a drum. It makes you sweat. It clouds your thoughts. To live under its distorting power every day isn’t really living at all.
The use of fear as a weapon is nothing new:
“On they come, all bent on violence. Their hordes advance like a desert wind, sweeping captives ahead of them like sand. They scoff at kings and princes and scorn all their fortresses. They simply pile ramps of earth against their walls and capture them! They sweep past like the wind and are gone. But they are deeply guilty, for their own strength is their god.”
Habakkuk 1:9–11
What you just read described the Babylonians.
There have been other armies just as dangerous. Let’s take a look back at the Mongols, who used violence to inflict fearful submission.
Whenever the Mongols invaded a village, grown men knelt with their faces against the dirt, hoping not to be killed.

Genghis Khan also stated that the people his army was attacking deserved it. He claimed their invasion was punishment from God.
Fear.
Submission.
Worship.
Habakkuk recognized this pattern before pleading with the LORD:
O LORD, my God, my Holy One, you who are eternal—surely you do not plan to wipe us out? O LORD, our Rock, you have sent these Babylonians to correct us, to punish us for our many sins. But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they? Are we only fish to be caught and killed? Are we only sea creatures that have no leader? Must we be strung up on their hooks and caught in their nets while they rejoice and celebrate? Then they will worship their nets and burn incense in front of them. “These nets are the gods who have made us rich!” they will claim. Will you let them get away with this forever? Will they succeed forever in their heartless conquests?
Habakkuk 1:12–17
Sure, tyranny in America hasn’t reached the level of Babylonian or Mongol forces, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pray like Habakkuk that the Lord would deliver us before they can reach that magnitude.
Americans aren’t supposed to fall into that pattern. Yet, where are we?
Cancel culture.
Wokism.
Bow.
Are these not reflections of the same cycle?
Instead of following that cycle, every American heart should echo these words from the Voice of the Revolution:
“Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

Antonyms of liberty include the following: force, bondage, duress, subjection, captivity…
How many of the words I just listed represent some form of fear?
Let’s take a look at the word duress, for example. It means doing something against one’s will due to threats, pressure, and violence.
Is cancel culture a threat?
Is being lumped in with Nazis because of how you vote pressure?
Who is really behaving like Nazis?
Is it the ones threatening violence over different opinions?
Is it the ones celebrating murder?
One thing is absolutely certain: the people who celebrate murder and hate our country want nothing more than for the rest of us to live in fear.
Our liberties were bought with blood, yet so many Americans cower in fear at mere words.
The cycle must be broken NOW before that hatred and the celebration of death morphs into another communist revolution.
The idea that standing up against their weaponization of fear must include violence is wrong.
Standing up for your convictions can be, and should be, done peacefully.
The reason I love John 10:10 and quote it so much is because of the brilliance of Christ for simplifying the sides of good and evil. He made it so clear!
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
John 10:10
This verse is the perfect roadmap to reference for discernment in any facet of our lives.
Who wants to steal, kill, and destroy?
Babylonians did.
Genghis Khan did.
Mao did.
Stalin did.
Hitler did.
Communists do…
How much stealing and killing and destroying they’re able to achieve depends on their power and influence.
This is where you and I step in.
You see, we must pray against this evil, yes, ALWAYS.
We also must not fear, nor submit to it.
You know you’re not whatever evil go-to the Woke parrots, just to slander into silence everyone they disagree with. More importantly, God knows you’re not those things, so why care what they call you?
Why allow them to stir up fear in your heart?
That fear leads to submission.
Submission equals surrender.
Are you willing to surrender your religion, your convictions, your liberty, and your country because someone might call you a bad name?
What’s ironic is that the same people who slander us for how we vote, calling us the worst things a person can be called, cheer for murderers at the same time.
To see so many people carry that level of hypocrisy is astounding.
They were practically giddy over a CEO being shot over his profession. They were disappointed when God saved President Trump on J13. They wore matching pink shirts and made sick videos of themselves to glorify what should be unthinkable. This is all a sickness, and it’s nothing new. There is nothing closer to the Bolsheviks in America than what we’ve witnessed since Charlie Kirk’s murder. The same people, who are self-righteous in how they vote, applauded the murder of a father because of his opinion. Many still do!
That is the opposite of morale high-ground.
Murder should never be applauded at all!
One doesn’t need to study medieval history to know how low humanity can go. All they have to do is look at social media posts from a year ago up to now.
It wasn’t always this way.
Hate wasn’t always trending.
Twenty-five years ago, when the Twin Towers fell, no one cared about the religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation of those Americans. All anyone cared about was that they were our countrymen, and they were murdered. We cried for them. We prayed for them and their families. We didn’t know them, but we mourned them.
Twenty-five years ago, we didn’t have social media, but unity was trending.
Now many Americans want their fellow countrymen to die based on what they say and how they vote.
That’s not the American way.
It’s communist.
It’s fascist.
It’s tyrannical.

There is nothing more tyrannical than wanting someone to be destroyed for their beliefs, for their votes, or for their opinions.
We don’t owe them our submission, and we don’t have to live in fear of their hate.
It starts with the courage to say no. I don’t care what you think. I’m not going to change who I am because you demand it. I’m not going to change how I vote because you demand it. I’m certainly not going to change who I worship because you demand it!
One juror stood up to eleven to uphold his convictions. What a perfect example for us to do the same.
Sons and daughters of liberty, you were not created to live a life of fear.
It’s time to start living in abundance.
No matter how loud or destructive these communists get, no matter what they threaten, we must not cower in silence. We must not yield our rights, our beliefs, our votes, or our constitutional rights to them!
Our rights don’t come from them.
They come from God.
“Dear friends, don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot do any more to you after that. But I’ll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill you and then throw you into hell. Yes, he’s the one to fear.”
Luke 12:4–5
The same God we are to fear also gives us the power to stand.
The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon mountain heights.
Habakkuk 3:19
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the gospel of peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of this, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:13–17
You were not created to be a slave.
It’s not violent to stand.
It’s not evil to want your country to be great, either.
O LORD, you have made our nation great; yes, you have made us great! You have extended our borders, and we give you the glory! LORD, in distress we searched for you. We prayed beneath the burden of your discipline. Just as a pregnant woman writhes and cries out in pain as she gives birth, so were we in your presence, LORD. We, too, writhe in agony, but nothing comes of our suffering. We have not given salvation to the earth, nor brought life into the world. But those who die in the LORD will live; their bodies will rise again! Those who sleep in the earth will rise up and sing for joy! For your life-giving light will fall like dew on your people in the place of the dead!

When my grandmother died, I cried so hard I could barely read the words of verse 19, but it’s exactly where God led me. It brought me so much comfort.
Today, many need comfort; Charlie Kirk’s widow and children especially.
It’s our duty to pray for them and for all of us as we navigate processing the evil that’s infected our country with bloodlust.
One thing I witnessed Charlie Kirk do that I greatly admired, was how he encouraged young people to get married and have kids.
That reflected life in abundance in a world that has preached that humans are parasites, and that children are nothing more than dirty diapers.
His passion for family reminded me of Malachi chapter 4. I’m sure if you’re a Christian, you’re very familiar with Malachi chapter 3, particularly verses 8–10. But I’ve not heard Malachi chapter 4 preached nearly as much, though it should be. It’s a short chapter, and desperately needed now:
The LORD of Heaven’s Armies says, “The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed—roots, branches, and all. “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. “Remember to obey the Law of Moses, my servant—all the decrees and regulations that I gave him on Mount Sinai for all of Israel. “Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the LORD arrives. His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.”
Malachi 4:1–6
If the demand to fear, submit, and bow is this bad now, how much worse will it be for our children?
We must peacefully but loudly stand against it.
We must honor fatherhood and family.
Men, you are so needed right now.
The demonic insanity of the Pink Shirts has been an abomination against motherhood, children, and all that’s sacred.
It’s up to you to put a stop to it. Not with violence or the oppression you’re constantly accused of. No. With tenacious standards. With God!
Stand.
Yes, there are incredible women who would never relate to such a thing, no matter what they’re going through. Thank God for them!
Right now, I believe fathers need to rise.
Only godly men can break this psychosis.
Reflect God in everything you do.
Be the best fathers you can imagine.
It’s in you.
You’re more than capable.
Pave the way for your children to have life, and life to the fullest, so that they’ll never live in fear. They’ll never be put under duress to submit to evils like communism. And they’ll never even consider bowing to man.
Be like Charlie Kirk.
Honor God, cherish your children, and you’ll preserve a nation.
